Board Certified Dermatologist, Anthony L. Timko, M.D., has practiced medicine in Salida, Gunnison and Alamosa since 2001, providing professional diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions as well as procedures to improve the skin's appearance - for people of all ages. Available on-site at the Salida clinic, Mohs surgery is accepted as the single most effective technique for removing Basal Cell Carcinoma and Squamous Cell Carcinoma, while leaving the greatest amount of healthy tissue. Cure rates with Mohs are significantly better than those for standard excision or other accepted methods. Dr. Timko obtained his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio, graduating with honors. He then completed an additional four-year program, specializing in the field of dermatology; the care and treatment of skin, hair and nails. Dr. Timko is an American Academy of Dermatology Fellow. As required for certification by the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. Timko participates in the Maintenance of Certification program, which refreshes and expands his knowledge of dermatology.
